Why Hydro Jetting and Cleaning

Hydro Jetting is the process of using a high-pressured flow of water to clear and clean the interior surfaces plumbing pipes. The highly pressurized water flow removes stubborn buildup like scale, grease, minerals, tree roots and other debris that becomes an issue over time.
This technique is far superior to 'snaking' a pipe. While snaking can open a clogged are of a pipe, this service simply punctures a hole or multiple holes to allow water to flow. Whereas hydro jetting achieves a much more comprehensive and long term solution to the problem by now only clearing and cleaning the clogs, but also removing unwanted debris from the pipe walls.

Root Removal and Treatment

When pipes are losing efficiency or failing completely due to tree roots, these obstructions can be resolved through removal and/or treatment. Typical tell-tale signs that point to tree roots being the main issue are the presence of sinkholes on the property or extra “green” areas on the property that appear to be more lush than the surrounding areas.
Hydro-jetting with our high quality equipment will clear many tree roots. For larger and more stubborn roots, we will a mechanical auger or rooter. This machine will chop even the thickest of roots with a saw-like precision. After the roots have been thoroughly chopped, the pipe can then be flushed out with high pressure water jetting.

Manhole Inflow and Infiltration Repairs

Infiltration occurs when groundwater seeps into sewer pipes through holes, cracks, joint failures and/or faulty connections. Inflow occurs when stormwater rapidly flows into sewers via roof drain downspouts, foundation drains, storm drain cross-connections and through holes in manhole covers. These issues (termed I&I) are most often caused by aging infrastructure that needs either maintenance or complete replacement and can dramatically impact governments’ budgets, both in treatment costs and increased pumping required to move the increase in flow volumes.
Pro Sewer and Storm uses a chemical grout injection process to seal manholes, lateral lines and culverts as an excellent method for repairing already damaged pipes as well as preventatively prepping against future inflow and infiltration issues. Our repair process can be utilized in many circumstances including high groundwater tables, unstable support soils, saturated environments, voids and other similar situations. As the injected grout seeks out areas of misaligned or cracked pipes, it effectively seals against both infiltration and inflow.
